Jean Lash

Of Freedom, passed away on December 31, 2013 at Good Samaritan Hospice House, Wexford. She was the beloved wife of Rev. Robert S. Lash; and loving mother of Cheryl (Ronald) Wenner of Oklahoma, Mark (Lynda) Kennedy of Franklin Park, Timothy Kennedy of Erie, John (Carrie) Kennedy of McKean; and stepdaughters, Rita Lash of Melbourne, FL and Kathy ( William) Fuller of Brighton Heights; she also was the proud grandmother of seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. She was dearly loved not only by family and friends, but members of her book club and two special people in her life, Jack and Kay Rimer. In addition to cherishing her role as a pastor’s wife, she was a registered nurse and took great pride in being the first married women accepted into the Washington Hospital School of Nursing as a commuting student. For many years she was head nurse in the Coronary Care Unit of Monongahela Valley Hospital. A devout Christian and member of Dutilh United Methodist Church, she was an excellent Bible study teacher and musician, playing the organ and singing in a number of church and community choral groups. She was regarded by her family and friends as an exceptionally spiritual woman with extraordinary judgment and wisdom. A Memorial Celebration will be held January 18, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Dutilh United Methodist Church, 1270 Dutilh Rd., Cranberry Twp. Memorials may be made to Dutilh United Methodist Church.
