On Wednesday, July 29, 2026 age 78 of Ross Twp. Beloved husband of 41 years to Patricia A. (Sills) Bickar. Loving father of James (Barbara) Bassett of Las Vegas, Nevada. Grandchildren Collin (Zoie) Bassett, Trever Bassett, Bryce Bassett, Shane Bassett and Michaela (Will) Uri. Great-grandchildren Jethro James Bassett and Hugh Sparrow Bassett. Brother of Donna Creely, Dianne (Bob) Corcoran, Patricia (Dave) Severin, Daniel (Lisa) Bickar. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Francis J. Bickar and M. Dolores (Leibold) Bickar. Jim proudly served 33 years in law enforcement with Penn Central, Conrail and Norfolk Southern. He was also a member and past commander of the Sons of the American Legion Post 80. Jim was also an avid golfer and proud of his hole-in-one at Lake View North.
Friends will be received Wednesday, August 12, 2026 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Devlin Funeral Home, Inc. 806 Perry Hwy, Pittsburgh, PA 15229. A Mass of Chistian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2026, 10 AM at St. Athanasius Church, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish.
