James T. Schlieper, 86, of McCandless, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2023. Beloved husband of Shirley Schlieper; Father to James (Marti) Schlieper; Janet (Bruce) Deringer; the late Joseph Schlieper; stepfather to Tom (Ronnie Beth) Burgunder, Paul (Lorraine) Burgunder, Jim Burgunder, the late David (surviving spouse Nancy) Burgunder. Grandfather to numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jim found great joy in attending all their many activities. Jim worked as a Pressman for 42 years for the Pittsburgh Press/Post Gazette, a legacy of which he was very proud. Once Jim retired, he cherished times vacationing with his loving wife.
Friends will be received Sunday November 19 from 2 until 6 PM at DEVLIN Funeral Home, 806 Perry Hwy. Mass of Christian Burial Monday at 10AM at Our lady of Mount Carmel Parish, St. Sebastian Church. In Lieu of flowers consider donating to Bridges Hospice in James’ name.
