Irene G. Berczel
Age 95, of Ross Twp., passed away on Monday, January 18, 2021. Born January 23, 1925, daughter of the late George and Anna (Kovac) Rubacky. Beloved wife of the late Joseph Berczel. Irene is survived by her sister in law, Janice Rubacky of Poway California and many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her eight siblings.

Irene retired from HJ Heinz where she was a part of an assembly crew that built planes during World War II. She was very proud of her Slovak heritage and was a lifelong member of the Sokol organization where as a child she was a competitive gymnast. Irene loved animals especially her pet Chihuahuas. It was always a pleasure to sit and listen to Irene’s interesting stories and her family will miss sharing those times.

Family and friends are welcome Friday from 9-10:00 am at Devlin Funeral Home, 806 Perry Hwy., North Hills. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 10:30 am at Our lady of Mount Carmel Parish, St. Teresa of Avila Church. Entombment will follow at North Side Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in Irene’s name to Animal Friends, or The Western Pennsylvania School for The Blind.
