HUGH MICHAEL GARFOLD, Jr. 74, of Ross Township, passed away from diabetes and cancer complications on Sunday, October 16, 2022. Beloved Husband of Joanne L. (Yovanovich) Garfold, dear father of Joseph A. (Emily) and Daniel P. Garfold (Harley) and Happy Grandpap of Anthony James Garfold. Brother-in-law of Diane Yovanovich and the late Dave Yovanovich. Son in Law of Louise Yovanovich. Son of the late Selma and the late Hugh M. Garfold, Sr., Brother of the late Ron Garfold (Earlene), Sandra Law, Susan (Mike) Bac, Cynthia (John Pryle) Garfold, and Cheryl Bolling.
An excellent guitar player and Singer, Huey performed in several music bands through out Pittsburgh: for instance, The Ice Blues Band, with Johnny Vann, The Father Time Band at the original Jergel’s on Babcock Blvd, The Magic Moments oldies Band, and several blues and jazz bands over the years.
Hugh proudly served his country as a sargent in the United States Army in Vietnam (1968-1971)
Joanne would like to thank the VA Hospital in Oakland 4th floor ICU for all the kindness towards Huey.
Interment will be held at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at 2 p.m. All are welcome- A celebration of life will be held in Hugh’s honor in the near future.
