Helen was born in Pittsburgh on April 21, 1919 to the late Eva and John Mazur; She was lovingly devoted to her family; Beloved wife of the late Alfonse S. Gilius; Loving mother of William and Marsha Gilius, Ronald and Susan Gilius, Janice and David Freiss, and Carol and Dale Washington; Proud grandmother of Nikka Brooks (Cliff), Brian Freiss (Becca), Jason Freiss (Maggie), David Freiss (Jessie), Lauren Gilius, Gregory Washington (Kristin), Evan Gilius (Suzie) and Michael Washington (Kasey); Devoted great-grandmother of Wyatt, Grant, and Owen Freiss, and Savannah and Sadee Brooks. Friends will be received on Saturday 6-8PM and Sunday 2-4 & 6-8PM at T.B. DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, 806 Perry Hwy., Ross Twp. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 10AM in Most Holy Name of Jesus, 1520 Claim St., Pgh, PA 15212. Helen was a faithful member of Most Holy Name and the St. Alexis over 50 club. She also was a founding member of the Gateway North Chapter 3586 of the AARP. Helen was proud of her long career at the North Catholic High School cafeteria. She was also an avid Pittsburgh sports fan, who enjoyed watching the Steelers, Pirates and Penguins with her family.
