Gwyneth Lynn Bellomo, age 67, daughter of the late Robert Hastie and Elizabeth Davis of Avoca, PA. passed away peacefully in her sleep, on December 28, 2015. Gwen was the beloved wife for 47 years of Alan M. Bellomo and loving mother of children Deanna L. Speranza wife of Matthew Speranza of Valencia, PA and Jeffrey R. Bellomo, husband of Whitney Bellomo of York, PA., She was the proud grandmother of Tori Belle Speranza, Dominic Speranza and DeAnna Bellomo. Gwen loved her grandchildren and took pride in each of their many accomplishments. She was the sister of Jean Babington, wife of Victor Babington of Oradell, N.J, and Shirley Kapp, wife of Howard Kapp of Rockville, MD. She was also the sister in law of Joan Lokuta of Dupont, PA and the sister in law of Joseph Bellomo and his wife Dorothy of Ellicott City, MD. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
Gwen will always be remembered for her sage advice and counsel. Her family relied upon her for her fair and wise judgement. She was an avid gardener, shopper and bird watcher. She loved to travel and was especially fond of cruising. She will be missed by all.
The family wishes that in lieu of flowers, a charitable donation be made to Olivia’s House: A Grief and Loss Center for Children located at 830 South George Street York, PA 17403. Gwen was a passionate supporter of this worthwhile charity.
Friends may call at DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME of CRANBERRY, 2678 Rochester Rd. (724) 772-8800, on Monday January 4, 2016 from 5 to 8PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at 10AM in St. Kilian Church, (205 Clark St., Mars, PA 16046) with entombment to follow at Holy Savior Cemetery, Gibsonia, PA.
