I just realized yesterday that Dr. Hoyson had passed away far before his time. I was so shocked. He was the best pediatrician I could have ever had for my children; they are adults now so I did not become aware of this at the time. So very sad. Dr. Hoyson was truly a bright light and his passion for taking care of children always shined through. He was one of the rare people able to live life in the present moment. Love and joy were always evident in his smiling blue eyes and kind personality. I see today is his birthdate as well. I’m sure he is celebrating it in the glory of God. I hope his family who he loved so much has found some peace with the passing of time. Thinking of you all and praying for your wellbeing.

My deepest sympathies to the Hoyson family. I would always see Dr. Hoyson at band concerts and events, and he was always such a warm and friendly person to talk to and be around. I will always be grateful that he and Mrs. Hoyson allowed 15+ of us to gather at the house during the holidays, even long after graduating high school. He will truly be missed.

Prayers and condolences to the Hoyson family. Dr. Hoyson was the reason we joined Bellevue Pediatrics. My children did not always get to see him as their doctor but I certainly cherished the times they did. We thank him for his dedication, his kind and caring ways and his humor that always made our visit fun and memorable. He will be missed by so many.

Dr. Hoyson was so wonderful and caring to my 2 sons since their first appointment after being born. My boys are now 17 and 14 and they always looked forward to their yearly visit. Dr. Hoyson always made them laugh and put them at ease. He was so down to earth and he truly cared about his patients. My family is so sad to hear of his passing. We would like to express our deepest sympathy to your family. He will truly be missed.

Dear Katherine and family, What can one say to express sympathy for something so devastating? I am so very sorry for your loss. Your dad was a wonderful doctor, father, and overall human being. I am sure that these words are hollow compared to the depth of the pain that you are feeling right now; but know that you are not alone. There is an entire community, both in Pittsburgh and beyond, that is mourning your dad’s passing. We all carry a piece of him with us as long as we hold the memory of his greatness. My solemn regards, Ryan

Dr. Hoyson was one of the greatest guys I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. He was my pediatrician from my first ever doctor’s appointment at 6 weeks old, all the way until he finally told me I was "too old to be seeing him anymore" on my 22nd birthday. I recommended him to EVERYONE who was ever looking for a doctor for their child, and for good reason too. He was more than just a doctor to my family and I – he was a great friend. He fought long and hard and it’s comforting to know he will finally be at peace, watching over each and every one of us… Until we meet again, Dr. Hoyson <3
