Gerry Connors and my mother, Mildred Altmyer, were best friends in high school. They were in the same class at Mount Alvernia High School and they remained close friends over a lifetime until Mildred received her invitation to go to heaven in 2019. Gerry was a special friend to our family and we stayed in touch when she moved from Pittsburgh. She always shared a smile that would make any day better and she was always ready to tell a funny story. Gerry Connors loved life and she loved to have fun. I can only imagine the antics that Gerry and Mildred enjoyed together in school. Gerry will be missed. But she will always be remembered as a special friend! She was like a sister to me. She passed on her love of bingo to me.
Miss Gerry resided at The Coventry at St. Joseph of the Pines in Southern Pines, NC for a little over a year before her death. She was a gentle, friendly presence in our community. It was an honor to care for and about her! -Chaplain Lynnette
