Theodore Vaughan “Garrett” Griffin, 45, of Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania, passed away tragically on Saturday, July 25, 2026.
Garrett was the beloved husband and best friend of 19 years to Amanda (Shadrach) Griffin and the devoted father of Charlotte (11), Maddie (9), and Teddy (9), who were the center of his world. He was the cherished son of H. Vaughan Griffin of Rutland, VT and Mary Beth Halligan of Seabrook Island, SC; son-in-law of Sherry Shadrach of Murrysville, PA and Bill Shadrach of Salt Lake City, UT; and a loving relative, colleague, mentor, and friend to countless people whose lives were made better by knowing him. He was preceded in death by his sister, Lindsay Griffin, and his brother, H. Vaughan Griffin, Jr.
Born and raised in Rutland, Vermont, Garrett was a proud Red Raider who embraced every opportunity to compete, lead, and build friendships. In high school, he excelled in football, basketball, and baseball and received the 1999 Tri-Scholar Athlete Award given to Student Athletes who played three Varsity Sports while maintaining honor roll for all four years. Garrett was selected for the Vermont football All State Team as a wide receiver in ‘98. He was also voted Captain of the Varsity baseball team in ‘98 and ‘99 and Team MVP in ‘99. Garrett was a life-long New York Yankees fan.
Garrett went on to attend High Point University, where he starred as a pitcher on the baseball team and lettered for two years before a career-ending shoulder injury. Sports taught Garrett lessons about teamwork, perseverance, and leadership, qualities that would define his life, long after his playing days ended.
Following graduation from High Point University, Garrett embarked on a distinguished career with PepsiCo, where he dedicated two decades of his life to building trust, admiration, and the respect of his colleagues and customers across the country. His career provided many opportunities, beginning as a Retail Sales leader in New York City, leading sales for Pepsi’s largest strategic customer in Bentonville, AR, and most recently returning to Pittsburgh to lead the operations for one of the largest markets in the U.S. He managed many customer relationships over his tenure and was a trusted partner to some of the largest properties, including the Pittsburgh Steelers. Those who worked alongside him remember him less for his titles and accomplishments and more for the way he treated people. Garrett was a leader who inspired others through kindness, authenticity, generosity, and an unwavering commitment to helping those around him succeed.
To know Garrett was to know someone who lived life fully and loved deeply. His energy and charisma could light up any room. He possessed a remarkable ability to bring people together, cultivating friendships throughout his life, and maintaining them deeply, including his passion for quality time spent with friends on the golf course. Garrett was often described as a “north star” to those around him, someone whose guidance, encouragement, and steady presence helped others navigate life’s successes and challenges.
While Garrett achieved much professionally, his greatest joy was his family. He met his future bride Amanda, at The Big East Tournament at Madison Square Garden. They began dating long-distance and eventually married, starting their lives together in Baltimore, MD. Before they became parents, Garrett and Amanda built a marriage grounded in friendship, mutual respect, and a shared sense of adventure. They embraced life’s opportunities together, creating memories through travel, especially on the Utah ski slopes, the beaches of South Carolina, and at Dave Matthews Band concerts. Together, they created a life surrounded by a circle of friends spanning every chapter of their lives, from childhood onward.
Garrett treasured every moment spent with Amanda and took immense pride in Charlotte, Maddie, and Teddy. He loved everything about being a Dad, including coaching his children’s sports teams, cheering from the sidelines, playing basketball in the driveway, baking cookies, and planning epic family vacations. Garrett was always present and fully engaged, not just for the big moments, but also for the everyday ones that quietly become life’s greatest memories. He truly loved being a husband and father above all else.
Garrett leaves behind a legacy of loyalty, compassion, friendship, and love. He taught those around him the importance of showing up for others and building meaningful connections that transcend circumstance. The impact he made on his family, friends, colleagues, teammates, and community will not be forgotten.
Though his life was cut far too short, Garrett’s spirit will continue to live on through the countless lives he touched, the friendships he nurtured, and the love he shared so freely. The values he instilled, the memories he created, and the unconditional love he gave will remain woven into the fabric of his family forever. His legacy will live on through the lives of his children, the stories they will share, and the countless ways they will carry a part of their dad with them every single day.

Garrett will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and endlessly loved.
Garrett’s life will be memorialized at a funeral service on Friday, July 31st, 2026 at 11AM in Orchard Hill Church, 2551 Brandt School Rd. Wexford, PA 15090. A visitation will follow at DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME of CRANBERRY, 2678 Rochester Rd., Cranberry Twp., PA 16066 from 12:30-3:30PM.

I started at the Youngwood, PA Pepsi branch a little over a month ago, and I was fortunate enough to meet Garrett on my third day of training. He mentioned that he was not at the Youngwood location very often because he typically worked at other locations, but despite only having a few minutes to talk, he took the time to ask about me, my family, and my goals. He genuinely listened and made me feel welcome.
A couple of weeks later, Garrett reached out and told me how much he enjoyed meeting me and that he was excited to see the impact I would make at the Youngwood location. As someone who was new to the company, that simple gesture meant so much. It showed just how thoughtful, encouraging, and kind he was.
I can only imagine the incredible impact Garrett had on the people who knew and loved him best. My heart goes out to his wife, his babies, and all of his family and friends. I am sending them love, strength, and healing during this difficult time.
Thank you for making such a positive impact on me in such a short time, Garrett. You will be remembered.
