Age 67 of New Sewickley Twp. On Tuesday June 26, 2012, beloved husband of Susan (Debski) Floriani, loving father of Marc A. Floriani (Amy) and Scott P. Floriani. Brother of John Floriani, Chester Zowacki, Rosemary Taylor and the late Bernie Floriani. Dear grandfather of Marc Anthony and Jessica Sara. Gene was a retired school teacher for the Mt. Lebanon School District and an avid Steeler Fan. Friends received Friday 2-9 PM at Devlin Funeral Home of Cranberry, 2678 Rochester Rd. 724-772-8800. On Saturday, 4-8 PM family and friends are invited to a celebration of Gene’s life at Domenico’s Restaurant, Rt 19 Cranberry Twp.In Gene’s memory wear your Balck n Gold.In Lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Bernie’s Book Bank .Org, 28101 N. I’d want to offer my deepest sympathy to my uncle Gene’s wife Susan, his son’s Marc and Scott and their families, and also to uncle John Floriani and family, and to uncle Bernie Floriani’s family.
I want to extend the same sympathy in behalf of my mother, and Gene’s sister, Rosemary Taylor.
Genie, Bernie and Johnnie (as they were called) and I played a lot of sports together growing up. We spent many hours together.
Gene was a good guy… his hugs could leave your ribs sore for a couple of days.
I’m sorry I couldn’t make it back there to pay my respects and my mother is too hard to help around at 86.

Thinking of you all. I imagine Gene and Bernie already going 0ne-on-one on the heavenly court. And, of course, they will be having a Stoney’s afterward. It is a wonderful idea to have memorials made to Bernie’s Book Bank. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
