Esther J. Arena, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2026, at the age of 98. Born on September 7, 1927, daughter of the late Vincent and Lillian Mancuso, she lived a life filled with love and devotion to her family. Esther was the cherished wife of the late Salvatore Philip Arena, whom she married on July 7, 1949, and who preceded her in death in 1966. Esther had a passion for reading and passed this love on to her grandchildren. She loved to bake cookies and was known for her famous zucchini cake.
She was a proud mother to Phyllis (the late Gary) Phillips, Diane (William) Staniland, and Salvatore Paul (Karen), and she was preceded in death by her daughter Darlene Klein. Esther was a doting grandmother to Rachel (Nicola), (the late Stephen), Adam (Jordan), Alyssa (Doug), Max, Jack, Sam, and (the late Michael), and a treasured great-grandmother to Ollie. She is also survived by her sisters Mamie and Dolores, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, while being predeceased by her siblings Jaye, Rosalie, Joe, James “Weddie”, Freddy, Nancy, and Jeannie.
Family and friends will gather to pay their respects during visitation on Friday, January 9, 2026, from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at the Devlin Funeral Home of Cranberry Township, 2678 Rochester Road, Cranberry Township. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at 10:30 AM at Sts John and Paul Church, St. Luke The Evangelist Parish. Entombment will follow at Christ Our Redeemer Cemetery.
