Ella Louise McCourt of Pittsburgh, PA passed away on February 20, 2024. Daughter of the late Ella Hutchinson, Ernest Hare, and Harry Moreth; loving wife of 61 years to Harry McCourt; mother of Kelly Pfenninger (Joseph), Sharon Hughes and Bridget McCourt; mother-in-law of Mark Hughes; grandmother of Devin Hughes, Paige Pfenninger, Claire Pfenninger and Harry McCourt; sister of the late George, Barbara, Leah and Virginia. Ella is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Originally from Pittsburgh’s North Side and a member of North Hills High School’s first graduating class in 1959, Ella took pleasure in creating a warm and welcoming home for her family and friends.

Ella and Harry enjoyed 20 years of active retirement with wonderful friends in The Villages, Florida, where Ella took up golf, joined a bowling league, and loved her weekly ladies card game. Travels with her sisters-in-law included trips to a variety of resorts and casinos.

Ella passed on her affinity for classic movies and British television shows to her daughters.

Friends will be received Friday from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at Devlin Funeral Home, 806 Perry Hwy. Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, February 24, at 10:00 AM at St. Teresa, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Hospital.
