My mother, Betty, is heart sick to hear of Ed’s passing. Ed was named for her father, Edward Joseph Riffle. They were very close as children and Ed spent his leaves with them here in California during WWII. Mother is 94 and sends her condolances.

    Dearest Beth,
So sorry I was confused about the dates and time. I know you are surrounded by many family members and friends who loved your father and have come to honor him. May this time be such a celebration of his life that you will be able to remember it fondly and with gratitude. And as he has been and is loved, so are you. ..

Sympathies to all of the children, my cousins, and to their children on the death of their Father and Grandfather. I was named Edward after my Uncle Ed at the moment when he was serving overseas and everyone was worried that he might not be coming back. A long and beautiful life, and I remember him warmly.
