I wish you blessings of peace and know that you are loved. And will always be remembered.
Any time I think of Mr. Matthews, I picture him exactly as he is in this photo; smiling, jolly, just a solid reassuring presence in any room he was in. In the 30+ years I have known the Matthews family, I don’t think I ever heard him raise his voice in anger. I witnessed the love and devotion he had for his wife and his two daughters and their families, and that love and affection spreads through him to everyone the Matthews family meets. I am so grateful to be able to say that I knew him and my heart hurts for Mrs. Matthews, Angela, Annette and the entire Matthews family. I am truly sorry that I can’t be there to celebrate him with you. Sending love and prayers of comfort and strength from me and my mom and our entire extended family to you all and to everyone who knew and loved him. Psalm 34:18 says “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted, and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” The Lord is with you all in your grief, and walks now with Mr. Matthews beside him. I love you all so very much!
My Kathie, I am so sorry for your loss of your dear, sweet Ed. Thinking of you and holding you close in my heart during this incredibly difficult time.
