Edward J. Holzer Jr., 75, of Marshall Township, died Thursday, Aug. 27, 2009. Beloved husband of Lucille “Cookie” (Zassick) Holzer; father of Edward (Diane) Holzer III, Richard “Deek” (Debra) Holzer, Cheryl (Andrew) Schmidt and Lorraine (Dennis) Marks; brother of Norma Jean Huffmyer and the late George Holzer and Emma Rose Tyskewicz; grandfather of Nicolette, Shannon, Stephanie and Steven Holzer, David and Kristy Marks and Michael Schmidt and the late Richard F. Holzer Jr.; also survived by two great-grandchildren. Edward was the former owner of Holzer’s Disposal for 20 years and Warrendale Hardware Store for 34 years. He was a fraternal member of the Masonic North Hills Lodge 716, Cranberry Elks BPOE Lodge 2249 and a former Marshall Township supervisor. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME OF CRANBERRY, 2678 Rochester Road, 724-772-8800. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Ferdinand Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions to St. Ferdinand Church Building Fund.
