Eda “Edith” (Cortellesi) Lisanti – Just shy of her 96th birthday, peacefully on November 5, 2018. Beloved mother of Suzanne (Carmen) Lisanti Cupelli, Sam (Allie) Lisanti and Juliann(Ed) Flaherty. Cherished grandmother of Tara Raposa, Santo Lisanti, Michael Lisanti, Kahla Lisanti, Samantha Lisanti, Chelsey Nostro, Eddie Flaherty, Dylan Flaherty. Great-grandmother of Malia, Natalia and Mariah Turk, Michael and Abbey Lisanti, Sammy Lisanti and Gavin and Avery Nostro. She was preceded in death by her husband, Santo “Sam” Lisanti.

Edith was a resident of Bellevue, PA for over 60 years and a parishioner of Assumption Catholic Church. Edith was a hard-working woman, she liked to use her hands. Her career started at Westinghouse as a coil winder during the Second World War. She then went on to work at George’s Fruit Market in Bellevue. Her sweet tooth got the best of her and her love for candy was solidified when she joined Candy Rama downtown. At home, her work never stopped. She cooked and baked constantly for her family. She was renowned for her pepperoni rolls, Italian wedding soup and chipped steaks. Her skills were in high demand for holiday pies and wedding cookie tables.

She was a true Renaissance woman with skills for roofing, masonry, carpentry, sewing, gardening and painting. Her love and strength of character will live on through her eight grandchildren. She immensely enjoyed and treasured each of them. The word “no” was never spoken when it came to helping her family and friends. She will be deeply, deeply missed by all who loved her. A private service and burial will be held for family and relatives.
