Dr. Frank J. “Jim” Santora

87, of McCandless Twp, passed away peacefully, on Wednesday, May 4, 2022. He was born August 10, 1934 in Pittsburgh, the son of the late Dr. Frank Santora and Ann (Weber) Santora. He attended St. Vincent Prep School in Latrobe, and then matriculated at Waynesburg College, graduating in 1963.

He continued his education at the University of Bologna Medical School in Bologna, Italy, graduating in 1970. Following medical school, Dr. Santora completed his general surgery residency at Western Pennsylvania Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. He served the community by practicing surgery and family medicine for well over 50 years. Doc was also a board member of McCandless Ambulance Authority and he had a passion for antique cars.

Dr. Santora was known by his family, friends, and patients as a kind, caring, and generous person.

Dr. Santora was the beloved husband of 57 years of Elaine (Gengarella) Santora; Loving father of Victoria Entwistle (John), Gayle Santora, Shelley Santora Jones (Ken), and Jamie Capaci (Frank); Proud grandfather of Emily and Frank Entwistle, Clara and James Jones, and Connor and Kaitlyn Capaci; Brother of Dr. Robert A. Santora (Bobbi) of Meadville, Judy Russell (George) of Columbus, IN., and the late Dr. Donald Santora (survived by Eileen) of Mt. Pleasant; He is also survived by loving nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, relatives, colleagues and patients.

Friends will be received on Friday, May 6 from 3-7 PM at DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, 806 Perry Hwy., Ross Twp. A Mass of Christian Burial will be in St. Aidan Parish, 10090 Old Perry Hwy., Wexford, PA 15090 on Saturday at 10AM. Everyone please meet at the Church. Entombment will follow in Allegheny County Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be directed to McCandless Ambulance Authority, Concordia of Cranberry or Bridges Hospice.
