Douglas L. Root Jr., of Franklin Park, died Sunday, March 4, 2012. He was the husband of the late Marilyn (Smith) Root; father of Douglas L. Root III (Luke), Kathleen R. Deken (Jeff), Mary Pat Joseph (Ray), Lyn M. Haggerty (Thomas), Paul D. Root (Lori), Kristine Riley (Charles), Megan M. Juby (Richard) and Mark P. Root (Mary Beth); also survived by 23 grandchildren; and cousin of Natalie Weiss. Friends received from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at T.B. DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, 806 Perry Highway, North Hills. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. John Neumann Church.
