David W. McGregor, 48, of Ross Township, died peacefully Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2011. He was the loving son of William (stepmother, Irene) and Marsha McGregor; brother of Lynda (Mark) Dodson; grandson of the late William and Edna McGregor, Edwin and Mary Mitesser and Andrew Jasik; lifelong friend of Gus and Brenda; also survived by aunts, uncles and cousins. David was a graduate of LaRoche College and was employed by Huston Industrial Sales. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday at T.B. DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, 806 Perry Highway, Ross Township. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Athanasius Church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Kanzius Cancer Research Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer, 130 W. eighth St., Erie, PA 16501. The family also requests friends perform a nice deed to others in memory of David. The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Nathan Bahary, the staff and nurses at the Hillman Cancer Center.

We are so sorry for your loss. Dave was a great friend to my brother, Lew Lineman, who died in March, 2007, and I like to think they are reunited in the “spirit world” sharing jokes and enjoying each other again. Your family is in our thoughts and prayers!

I met Dave back in 1979 when I was in Suburban General Hospital and so was he. We were friends for many years and had a lot of memories.
I’m sorry we didn’t keep in better touch. You were so much a part of my high school days, such a caring friend during those carefree times. They are all too fleeting. My heart goes out to your family. I’m sure they know what a wonderful son they raised and that he touched so many lives in such wonderful ways. You will be missed.
