David A. Cieszynski (Ciz), 59, of McCandless, passed away peacefully, and surrounded by his family, on Thursday, March 23, 2023. Son of Bill and Rose Cieszynski; loving husband of 22 years to Michele Cieszynski; loving father to his pride and joy Madyson; his buds that were like his own, DJ and Conner; beloved brother in law to Michael, Marty and Cindy, Amy and Ron, and Matthew and Shari; as well as many nieces and nephews, whom he adored; and, the true love of his life, his dog Cali. He is preceded in death by his sister Leslie.
David worked his way through college as manager and bartender at Max’s Allegheny Tavern. He graduated from Duquesne University and went on to have his own successful business, CTE Financial Services.
David was an avid golfer, and frequented the Masters Tournament many times. He was an amazing cook, known for his crab cakes and ribs, and won a rib cook-off on vacation in Sandbridge. He loved to vacation at the beach and wear his bucket hat and sunglasses, only to sit at the pool all day with his “Arnie Palmer”, and not go near the ocean.
He single-handedly funded Fan Duel and Amazon, and was a lover of Yetis and gadgets. (although he was a bit technologically challenged).
David always needed to know the plan for the day. He now knows God’s Plan for him.
Friends will be received Friday, March 31 from 2 PM until 8 PM at DEVLIN Funeral Home of North Hills, 806 Perry Hwy. Mass of Christian burial at St. John Neumann Church, Regina Coeli Parish on Saturday, April 1 at 11 AM. Everyone please meet at church on Saturday for Mass. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to the Little Sisters of the Poor.

So very sorry to hear this. Dave was always a wonderful guy, always smilin’, just like in that photo. I graduated from North Hills High Scholl in 1982 with Dave and it was never dull when Dave was in the room. Always happy when I saw that he was part of any particular class I was in. Thoughts and prayers to his family and friends.
