Carol (Kinevey) Leech

July 07, 1936 - January 23, 2022

Visitation: Wednesday 2-4 & 6-8 p.m.; Devlin Funeral Home of Cranberry

Service: Mass of Christian Burial in St. Ferdinand Church Thursday 10:00 a.m.

LEECH, Carol (Kinevey) age 85 formerly of Aspinwall, North Huntingdon Township, and Munhall, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 23, 2022. The last days of her life were spent surrounded by family.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Margaret (Maraz) Kinevey, and her loving husband of 56 years, Raymond Joseph Leech who passed away in 2016.

Carol was born on July 7, 1936, in Homestead, PA, and attended Munhall High School where she was involved in many activities including the rifle team. During high school, beautiful, mild-mannered Carol started dating Ray, a fun-loving, handsome guy on the school’s football team, whom she had known since the 2nd Grade at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic School. The two made an adorable couple.

After graduating high school in 1954, Carol entered secretarial school, and then quickly went to work for Mesta Machinery. Not long after that, she purchased her own home in West Mifflin, and in November 1959, she and Ray, a graduate of Westminster College, were married; they had their three children by 1965.

In 1966, Ray’s career moved the young family to Memphis, TN, and later to Dallas, TX. They moved back “home” to the Pittsburgh area in 1974 and settled in North Huntingdon. Carol volunteered for KDKA’s Call for Action, then started working for the University of Pittsburgh where she eventually served as Office Manager for close to 30 years for the late Doctor Bernard Fisher, an internationally renowned breast cancer specialist.

Carol was a wonderful mother and an amazing “Grammy.” She was a devoted Irish Catholic, Steelers fan, and a friend to everyone. So many said she personified beauty and grace, yet she had a sharp wit, especially once she was wearing her “two beer” smile. We will miss Grammy so very much.

She is survived by her children: Raymond C. Leech (Monica) of Steubenville, Ohio, Susan Seiff (Peter) of Hampton Township, PA, and Daniel Leech (Shelley) of Cranberry Township, PA, her like-a-son nephew, Richard Leech (Amy) of Ellwood City, PA, grandchildren: Marina Leech; Adam, Morgan, and Emily Seiff; Julia, Katherine, and Daniel Leech; great-nieces Laura (Ryan), Amber (Jake), and Hanah Leech; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are welcome on Wednesday, January 26 from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 at Devlin Funeral Home of Cranberry, 2678 Rochester Road, Cranberry Twp. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday at 10 am at St. Ferdinand Church.
