Anne Shuker of Pittsburgh, PA, died unexpectedly on July 14, 2023, at the age of 54 while vacationing in New York.

Anne is survived by her mother, Rosemary Shuker, sisters Suzanne (Richard) Hoffman, Molly (Brian) Beerman, Elizabeth (Joseph) Birch, former husband and cherished friend Michael Farren, and beloved nieces and nephews: Richard (Amanda) Hoffman, Rachael Hoffman, Regina Hoffman, Michael Beerman, Abigail Birch, and Jack Birch.  Anne was preceded in death by her father, Donald Shuker.

Anne was born in LaGrange, IL, on April 29, 1969, grew up in Pine Township, PA, and spent many years in Claremont, CA, before returning to Pittsburgh and making it her home.  Anne worked in the service industry and loved interacting with customers and clients who enjoyed her clever wit and keen sense of humor. She truly believed you should treat your customers with respect, courtesy, and friendliness, to let them know they are valued for their business, as well as their friendship and loyalty.

Anne loved the simple joys in life: a good cup of coffee, a suspenseful novel, a long walk, watching or attending Pirates’ games, and following Duke Blue Devils basketball.  She was generous to others in the things that matter most: a shoulder to lean on, a loyal friend, a good deed unrecognized at the time, and small favors like coffee delivered.  Anne will be missed most by those who love her for her amazing sense of humor; she found fun in the ordinary parts of life and used them to make others smile.

Anne’s family will receive friends from 2:00 – 5:00 PM Sunday, July 30, 2023, at Devlin Funeral Home Inc., 806 Perry Hwy, Pittsburgh, PA. Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish, St. Teresa of Avila Church, 1000 Avila Court, Pittsburgh, PA.  Monday, July 31, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Everyone please meet at Church.
