Andrew R. Funk, 78, of McCandless Township, died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2011. He was the husband of the late Lorraine (Galido) Funk and dear friend of Rita Foley; loving father of David Funk (Joyce Klein) and Christine (Bret) Emick; brother of Joseph, Leo and Robert Funk, Elizabeth Hassett, Barbara Ann Murphy, Dorothy Kulwicki, Mary Jane Petrocelly, Joan Biesecker and the late Carol Braun; and grandfather of Christian, Shannon and Emily. Andy was a member of Bricklayers Union Local No. 9 and a Korean War Army veteran. Visitation from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the T.B. DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, 806 Perry Highway, North Hills. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Alexis Church.

Uncle Andy will be remembered as great uncle and Godfather. Wish I could have come in person to express my condolences. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Christine,David and family: our condoles for the loss of your Father. He was a Father, Grandfather and a Brother.Living so far away from Andy and not seeing him he always looked the same. When we saw him 4 years ago we met him at Denny’s for breakfast. I think he liked eating at Denny’s. Even though Andy was 10 years older than me, I never thought the age differance between us mattered. A older brother. He came out to Ca only one time and could not get over our mountains. Duff drove him up to his sisters Carol, and did not like the big drop over the mountain roads. He has no pain and is now with his Mother, Father and his Sister Carol.I want to always remember him when we were young and being over the house on Elmer St. where Mom and Dad lived.
