We sadly announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother on December 11, 2025, not even two months after the death of her husband and our dad, Joe. Married for 66 years, they shared a deep, enduring love, and we find comfort knowing they are reunited.
She fought a long, valiant battle with pulmonary fibrosis, meeting each day with courage and grace.
She is now free, no longer needing to be tethered to an oxygen tank.
Born and raised in Pittsburgh, she graduated from Oliver High School in 1954 and later worked as a baker at North Allegheny High School, where her warmth and dedication were felt by many. She loved to bowl, fuss in her garden, sit by their pond, do jigsaw puzzles, play games, and most of all, she treasured time spent with family. She delighted in cruises and cozy evenings watching Star Trek, The Golden Girls, and Dancing with the Stars, and she never lost her joy for the music of Michael Bublé and Barry Manilow.
She leaves a legacy of kindness, devotion, and steadfast love. Her family will carry her spirit forward in the traditions she created, the laughter she inspired, and the love she gave so generously. We will miss her beyond words and honor her by living with the same grace she showed every day.
She was the cherished mother of three children: Michele “Mickey” (Greg Keith) Notaro, Suzie (Rob) Hughes, Eydeann “Eyde” (John Humbles) Notaro; the beloved “Nun” or “Gram” to five grandchildren: Rachael, Liberti, Sarah, Michael J. and the late Jessica and the adored great-grandmother of six great-grandchildren: Bobby, Lilli, Emersyn “Emmy”, Steven, Rynnlee, and the late Jasella.
Family and friends are welcome on Monday from 2-4, 6-8 pm at Devlin Funeral Home, 806 Perry Hwy., North Hills. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, St. Teresa of Avila Church.
