Visitation: Friends will be received Tuesday, July 1, 2025 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at Devlin Funeral Home, 806 Perry Highway, Pittsburgh, PA 15229.
Service: Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at 11:30 AM at St. Athanasius Church, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish. Burial will take place at National Cemetery of the Alleghenies (1158 Morgan Road, Bridgeville, PA 15017) directly following mass.
Thomas James Kress, 74, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2025, his wife by his side. Son of Virginia and the late Howard Kress; husband of 54 years to Edie Marcinko Kress; brother to Patti (the late Mark) Frankovich, and the late Debbie Sullivan; brother-in-law to George (Evelyn) Marcinko; Uncle to Amanda Marcinko, Greg (Brandon) Marcinko, Michele Sullivan, Terry Sullivan, and Nicholas Frankovich. He will also be missed by his beloved cats Sadie and Tizzie.
Tom proudly served in the US Air Force during Vietnam. An airplane mechanic, Tom selflessly devoted 4 years to serving the country he loved. Tom also spent 21 years of his life as a truck driver for OK Grocery. A man of many talents, Tom would take on just about any task or project. In recent years, he found a great love for building and designing guitars.

Edie, I played with you as a girl when visiting my grandparents, the Clairs. Sorry to hear of Tom’s passing. My Aunt Marlene supervised all of the games on Highland Ave. back in the ’50s. My brother, John Wagner, informed me of your loss. He didn’t know realize that I know many of the neighborhood kids.
If you would like to call me or email, it would be nice to catch up. I live in AZ, now, but am still connected with PGH.
