Rich and family, we are so very sorry for your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. May all the wonderful memories bring you peace and comfort.
Ray and Dana, my sincerest sympathy to you and your entire family. Your mom was one of the greatest ladies I ever knew. She will be missed. My prayers go out to you.
Joanne and Ray were our neighbors across the street on Joan Street for 12 years.
She was so sweet and kind; the perfect neighbor. Always a smile and a welcoming conversation. My brother, sister, and I were in elementary- middle school at the time, and after so many times of us forgetting our key to get into our house after school , my parents finally entrusted Joanne with the key–such a wise choice! We were never locked out again! She was a great person! Sympathy to all the Melders.
Melder Family – I will miss seeing your Mom on my visits back to PA and Dutilh. I always looked for her and she always had a smile for me. We sat together at church often when I was visiting! I know she is in a better place and that she will always be smiling upon you! Take care of each other in this time of sadness, but know that it will be marked by many good memories over the next days/weeks/months!
Ray,
My deepest sympathy to you and your family.
Truly blessed to have known Joanne through church, ladies Bible study, our visits and socializing. Joanne was a classy lady with a heart of gold who loved serving and socializing in the name of Jesus. I know our Lord has prepared a special place for her with many crowns which will undoubtedly coordinate with her attire and accessories.
Ashley and Families oh what a sweet women your mom was and what an impact she had on so many. There are some people in this world who touch you and you know are genuine from the minute you meet and your mom was one of them. Oh how she loved you and was so proud of you as well. I wish I would have had more chances to be in her company but just knowing her was a blessing. My deepest condolences to you and my heartfelt prayers are going up for peace that surpasses all understanding. xoxo

Dear Melder Family,
I am so saddened by your mom’s passing. She was a precious lady to me for many reasons. Like several other people have mentioned, she always acknowledged my birthday with a card. Last year was the first time I didn’t get a card from her since I was a teenager. Our birthdays were in the same week. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She was kind, thoughtful, and caring. I know you will all miss her dearly. Know that my family, my mom, my sister, and I will miss her too.
Love,
Sherri
Very sorry to hear of Jo’s passing. Only had the pleasure of knowing that beautiful woman for a few years. As good as an Avalon girl can get, for sure. God Bless you Jo, and rest in eternal peace.
I am so saddened to hear about the passing of Joanne. She was, without a doubt, one of the sweetest ladies I have ever met. I met her at Dutilh years ago, and bless her heart, she never once forgot to send me a birthday card! I just adored her, and want to pass my sincerest condolences on to her family. It was an honor to have known her for as long as I did. Rest in peace, sweet friend.
Rich and all the Melder family I express my sympathy for the loss of your mother. May the Lord cover each of you with His peace.
Momma Jo, It was such an honor and a privilege to be your friend. You’ve added so much to my life, as I cherished the time we spent together. Knowing you has been beyond amazing. I’m going to miss our daily texts, phone calls, and visits. Your smile made me smile and your hugs felt so good! I love you with all my heart. Your support with Logan and I was a bonus. You always made us feel loved and welcomed. We adore you for that!
Rest, Pretty Lady… you’ve lived a full life and touched all that knew you. Sending you the warmest of hugs.
I love you!
Julie
Joanne was the first person who greeted us when we came to Dutilh 16 years ago. She was so warm and friendly. And never missed a birthday card for John and me. God bless her beautiful family.
Dear Family of Jo Dixon Melder, I am shocked to learn of the loss of my dearest friend. We met at Avalon High School in our sophomore year and became friends immediately. We have kept in touch since we graduated in 1953. She was such a wonderful lady inside and out. I have so many good and fond memories of her and I will dearly miss her. She and Ray were a perfect couple and now can be together again in heaven. RIP Jo. I love you. Til we meet again.
Ray, Sorry to learn about the passing of your mother. My sympathy to you and Cathy and all your family. May God Bless.
I’m so sorry to hear of Joanne’s passing. I was always taught to call her Aunt Joanne and Uncle Ray. I thought they were because of being brought up with Connie and Billl. They were great people and they were always good to me. They both are going to be miss. Rest in peace Aunt Joanne and Uncle Ray. Good bless! 🙏
Jo was a very special lady.
She will be missed by all,
never to be forgotten.
My prayers are with you Rich and your family. I am so sorry for the loss of your Mother. We regret we are not able to pay our respects personally but we are with you in spirit. Our love and sympathy to all of you
Ray so sorry for your loss
