Of Franklin Park, known to his family and friends as Stan, passed away at the age of 86, after battling various health problems. He spent the first six years of his life in West Virginia, after moving back to Pittsburgh, he graduated from Crafton High School, married and raised his family in Franklin Park. A husband and a father of five, he is survived by his wife of 61 years, Nancy (Singer) Stephens; and children, Bill (Sandy), Susie (Mike), Wendy (Tim), Tim and Mary Kay (George). He had 12 grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Adrienne Winovich (late Nick), Lynn Stephens, Ginny Smyrles (Jim), Bill Stephens (Janey) and the late Nicki Kanith (late Ron); and many nieces and nephews. Stan was a Sheet Metal Worker for over 60 years, and had a well-planned retirement. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and golfing. He proudly nicknamed his great-grandchildren: Rosy Posey, Susa Bella, Hanky Panky, Tinkerbell, Bruno, Buster, Hallie Allie, Princes Tray, Lady Katie, and E-jie. They loved that he had a special name for each of them. His golfing game left him at the age of 70, but he never left the game. Working with his father and siblings, he built a cabin in the mountains which is still used by the family today. Family and friends will be received Sunday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, 806 Perry Hwy., North Hills, where services will be held Monday 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital, The Epilepsy Foundation or Make a wish
