William Keyser

October 04, 2024 - June 07, 2012

William A. Keyser, of Perrysville, Ross Township, in his 106th year, died Thursday, June 7, 2012, beloved husband of the late Margaret (Wessel) Keyser; loving father of Rosemarie Thorpe (the late Kent), William A. (Joan) Keyser Jr. and Edward A. (Johanna) Keyser; also survived by seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. His good friend and companion, Margaret Grogan, cared for him until her death in 2010. Bill was the longest living member of St. Teresa of Avila Parish, in Perrysville. He was a carpenter and cabinet maker and was working in his shop until he was 102. Bill was a very humble man. He was basically self taught and had an extraordinary eye for line and proportion, especially for someone with no training in aesthetics. His craftsmanship was impeccable. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at T.B. DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, 806 Perry Highway, North Hills. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Teresa of Avila Church.

My deepest condolences to Rosemarie (Randy’s and my babysitter so long ago) and the extended Keyser family. I fondly remember as a boy of, say, ten, walking up around the corner from the funeral home and avidly watching Bill operate his woodshop. A genuinely NICE GUY!
