Violet M. Schlup

Violet M. Schlup, age 94, of Passavant Retirement Community, Zelienople, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 28, 2023. Born April 15, 1929, in Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Lydia Dreger. Her late husband was Richard Schlup and she was the mother of Beth (Alan) Staton, and Laura (Rick) Walters; stepmother of Michael (Marilyn) Schlup, and Richard Schlup; Violet is also survived by many loving grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her 4 sisters and 1 brother.
Violet lived for many years in Seven Lakes, North Carolina where she was an avid golfer, winning several club championships. She enjoyed traveling with friends and family, including two cross country trips in a VW van. Violet did much charity work, but her favorite was building houses with Habitat for Humanity. She became proficient at installing vinyl siding.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in Violet’s name to Habitat for Humanity
