Thomas F. Walsh, 87, of Ross, died Friday, July 10, 2009. Husband of the late Alberta (Taciuch) Walsh; loving father of Thomas L. Walsh and Judith A. (Al) Hamburg; grandfather of Chanin Walsh, Beth Schneider and Becky Hamburg-Rozzo; great-grandfather of Brandi Schneider, Casey Hamburg and the late Brandon Hamburg; also survived by longtime friend, Josephine Lipinski. Walsh was a decorated World War II Veteran. He was a Staff Sergeant and Crew Chief of the B-24 Liberator “Stardust” with the 8th Air Force based in Horsham St. Faith, Norwich England. He also was a lifetime member and founding father of the North Hills American Legion Post 80 where he served as Adjutant from 1964 to 1980. In addition he was a member of the West View VFW Post 2754. Tom worked as a mechanic for Wright Pontiac for 31 years before retiring in 1986. Friends received from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at T.B. DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, 806 Perry Highway, North Hills. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Teresa of Avila Church.
