Thomas Donald Bosiljevac
July 06, 1941 - July 06, 2025
Thomas Donald Bosiljevac, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2025, his 84th birthday . Born in Pittsburgh, PA, on July 6, 1941, Thomas lived a full and thoughtful life. He will be remembered for his generosity, love of learning and kindness he showed to everyone he met.
After earning a bachelor’s degree in forestry from Pennsylvania State University, where he was also a proud member of the Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity, Thomas went on to serve his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He graduated from the Navy’s Pre-Flight Naval Flight School in Pensacola, Florida, and served as a Naval Aviation Officer, ultimately achieving the rank of full Lieutenant. During his service, he was awarded five Air Medals, a Meritorious Unit Commendation, and four Battle Stars. After his military career, Thomas continued his commitment to public service as the Director of Human Resources for Allegheny County, where he was respected for his integrity, leadership, and people-first approach.
Thomas had a lifelong love of the outdoors. Whether hunting, fishing, or gardening, he found peace and joy in nature and shared those passions with his family and friends. He also had a deep interest in archaeology and was always on the lookout for arrowheads and other hidden treasures. Few things made him happier than uncovering a great find at the flea market, especially when he could share the story behind it.
He is survived by his son, Greg Bosiljevac (Susan), and daughter, Jamie McNees (Craig), who will carry forward his legacy alongside his adored grandchildren, Ava, Olivia, and Braden. He is also remembered by his siblings: MaryLou (the late Bill), Gerald and Rick, as well as his late sister Janice (Christopher).
Professional arrangements are entrusted to Devlin Funeral Home of Cranberry Township.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Veterans Association, honoring Thomas’s proud military service commitment to helping others.
Thomas was a humble, unique man whose warmth and love for life touched the hearts of many. He will be dearly missed, but his spirit will live on in the laughter of his grandchildren, the quiet strength of his family and the stories lovingly shared by those who knew him best.
