Thomas Daley

Thomas A. Daley, of McCandless, died suddenly on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2007. He served in the Air Force for four years in the early 1950s and graduated from the Duquesne University School of Law in 1961. After graduating, Thomas was appointed deputy attorney general of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. In 1963, he was appointed an assistant U.S. attorney for the Western District of Pennsylvania, where he served for 26 years until retiring. During his service with the U.S. Attorney’s Office, he was the chief prosecutor in tax fraud cases and in 1973 became chief of the criminal trial division. Thomas authored the criminal division manual that still serves as a reference guide. For several years after retiring, he was associated with the law firm of Brennan, Robins & Daley. Beloved son of the late Michael and Anna Connolly Daley. Brother of Michael, John and Coleman Daley, Mary Catherine Bredl and Ann and Catherine Daley. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Visitation from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the T.B. DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, 806 Perry Highway, Ross. Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. John Neumann Church, Franklin Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank.
