Staff Sergeant Edward F. Greiner Jr., of Ross Township, died accidentally Tuesday, March 6, 2012, in Fayetteville, N.C. He was the beloved son of Edward F. Greiner Sr. and Maggi Aebi; loving brother of Sarah Molly Morency (Justin); loving grandson of Dolores Greiner; nephew of Fredrick F. Greiner (Dolly), Robert N. Greiner (Connie Sue), Ronald Greiner (Jodi), John C. Greiner (Joyce) and Denise Aebi; uncle of Connor Morency; also survived by many cousins. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at T.B. DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, 806 Perry Highway, North Hills. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Sebastian Church.

I had the pleasure of serving with you in Iraq and running into you again, in Pittsburgh. I will always remember how easily you balanced honest cheer and solemn professionalism.

To the family I offer my condolences and prayers. SSG Greiner had a smile and a sense of humor that would lighten the mood during our many recruiting training sessions we would have to endure! His smile and humor will be sorely missed! He was a proud Soldier and the Army lost another good one, way to early! God Speed and God bless!!
