January 01, 1970

Passed away peacefully in her home with her family by her side. Survived by her loving husband of sixty years, John, and children; Christina Navadauskas, Mark Shaheen, Donna Wanner (Matthew Heary), and Rhonda Pring (Randall). She has eleven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
She was known for her kind, quiet nature, and was loved by all who knew her. She enjoyed spending time with her husband and family, going to beaches (Presque Isle being a favorite), having picnics and dinners, and bike-riding. Shirley had many interests, including cooking, traveling, reading novels, and gardening.
She worked in her younger days in grocery, then returned to college at forty years of age to obtain an associate’s degree and begin a career in medical office administrative services. She worked at Vista Behavioral Health for 13 years.
She had a spirit of adventure and a lifelong quest to learn new things. With her husband John, she dared to waterski on the rivers of Pittsburgh when she was in her forties and snorkeled on the Great Barrier Reef in Australia in her sixties.
Arrangements will be privately handled by Devlin Funeral Inc
The family requests for no flowers to be sent, but if you wish to honor her, you may consider donating to a charity in her name.

What a special lady and understanding, generous and helpful mother she was to Donna. I loved visiting her and she always asked if I wanted something to drink or eat. . She was always Mrs Shaheen to me I met her when I was 9 years old . She was adored by all who had the good fortune to know her. Rest in peace Mrs Shaheen.
