On Saturday, June 14, 2003, age 93, of Ross Twp., devoted wife of 47 years of the late Philip W. Gundelfinger Jr., Golf & Bowling Editor for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette for over 40 years; supportive and loving mother of Linda Gundelfinger Shapona and her husband Mark; adored grandmother of Brian Mark Shapona, her pride and joy; loving aunt of 18 nieces and nephews and their children. Survived by Elizabeth A. Gundelfinger, widow of the late Philip W. Gundelfinger Sr.; preceded in death by 7 Burby brothers: Vincent Paul Jr., William Werner, Joseph Patrick, Paul Joseph, John William, Leo Joseph, and Edward Paul. She enjoyed a full and wonderful life with her husband Phil. Together they enjoyed their family, Latin dancing, bowling, golf and the company of friends. Retired from Northland Library, she was a member of St. Teresa of Avila Church and the Catholic Daughters of America. At the time of her death she was a resident of Cumberland Crossing, but for over 38 years resided in Perrysville. Her kindness, adaptability, humor, courage, devotion to family and the Blessed Virgin Mary will always be remembered. Visitation Sunday 3-5 & 7-9 p.m. at T.B.
