Robert L. Shannon, 82, of Sherwood Oaks, formerly of Ross Township, died Saturday, Sept. 12, 2009. Beloved husband for 56 years of Margaret (Wilson) Shannon; loving father of Norma Frank, of Kentucky, and James J. (Yong) Shannon, of California; grandfather of Shawn Lee Shannon. Robert was a graduate of Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, N.J. He retired as a process design engineer for Koppers Co., and was a long time member of Hiland Presbyterian Church, where he served three terms as an elder. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the T.B. DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, 806 Perry Highway, North Hills. Services at 2 p.m. Thursday in Hiland Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hiland Presbyterian Church.
