Robert Joseph Tomas
Age 81, of Cranberry Twp., passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2020 while at his camp in Slippery Rock. Born Oct. 2, 1938, son of the late Joseph and Lenore Tomas. Beloved husband of Patricia Tomas, and the late Joan (Smith) Tomas; loving father of Jeffrey (Lisa) Tomas, Lori (Thomas) McCarthy, and Lynne (James) Torchia; pap of Nick, Jake, Courtney, Regina, and Brianne.

Bob will be lovingly remembered for his frugality, generosity of time, love of the oldies, and ability to fix anything. He enjoyed performing magic tricks and was an actor having appeared in several Pittsburgh commercials, movies and on billboards. Bob played softball in his younger days at Crafton Heights, enjoyed boating and fishing at Canadohta Lake, gambling in Vegas and traveling to Florida and Myrtle Beach. He loved dogs, especially his most recent, Toby.

Bob selflessly served his country in The United States Navy, before being honorably discharged in 1961. Following his discharge, he worked for Bell Telephone, and then Verizon as an installer.

A Memorial Service with Military honors will be announced and held at a future date. Professional Arrangements entrusted to Devlin Funeral Home of Cranberry.

Deepest sympathy to the Tomas family. I worked with Bob in Public Coin. He was liked by everyone & always had a smile on his face.

So sorry for the loss of you dad. I will always remember him especially the time at the lake when your dad hid in the water with seaweed all over him and jumped up and scared us acting as Jason from Friday the 13th…as we all came back from the Pontoon boat ride. He and your mom were good people. Hugs Xxxx

I was thinking of the reminders left behind by you in my Moms house. Old phone lines and electrical outlets in the gameroom and laundry room, even lights you installed 40+yrs ago! They’re still used every day. You’ll always be in our thoughts and hearts. Especially when I hear oldies played. Luv ya!
