SCHERER ROBERT H. “BONES” Age 85, of Englewood, FL, formerly of McCandless Twp., on Wednesday, September 4, 2013. Beloved husband of Peggy (Clarke) Scherer; loving father of Robert T. Scherer, Stacey M. Scherer, and David C. Scherer (Molly); dear grandfather of Maya, Maggie, Patrick, and Katie Scherer; brother of Dolores “Dee” Zelik, Marie Scherer Weidner, Richard “Dick” Scherer (Pat), and the late Francell Seaman, Evabell Colbert and William “Rip” Scherer (survived by wife, June). Preceded in death by his parents, William “Heavy” and Marie Scherer. Bones was a WWII Army veteran and a retired principal for the Pittsburgh Public Schools. Family and friends received Friday 2-4, 6-8 p.m. at the T.B. DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, 806 Perry Hwy., North Hills. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Alexis Church Saturday at 11 a.m.
