Richard A. Gruber, age 75, of Ohio Twp., passed away on Tuesday September 19. Born March 22, 1942 in Sewickley, PA son of the late Joseph and Evelyn (McLaughlin) Gruber. Survived by his Beloved Significant Other Ruth Dolan, loving father to Randall (Leslie Githens) Gruber, Susan (Robert) Bajoras, Amy (Jesse) Myron; grandfather of Mathew (Molly Homchenko) Bajoras, Karalyn (Scotty) Longenecker, Lindsey Walker and Zachary Walker. Also survived by 4 nieces and a nephew. Preceded in death by his wife Amelia “Min” (Buczkowski) Gruber.

Friends will be received Friday 2-4 & 6-8 p.m at Devlin Funeral Home, INC. 806 Perry Hwy., Ross Twp. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Church, Glenfield Saturday 10 am. (EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH)

Richard had a lifelong passion for music. He began in the music ministry at St Mary’s Church in Aleppo Township at an early age, began playing the organ for services at age 12, and served as its choir director for 46 years, up until the time of his passing. Richard also was drum major at North Allegheny High School and formed the choral group the Glen Andrew Singers in the late 60’s. He spent the majority of his career as an investigator for the Food & Drug Administration, and most recently as the business manager for St. Mary’s. Richard will also be remembered for his sense of humor which typically found its way into a conversation whether he was with family, friends, choir, or on the job.
