Richard J. “Dick” Pfeiffer, 85, of Ross Township, died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010. He was the beloved husband of 57 years of Virginia (Grabowski) Pfeiffer; loving father of Denise L. Gerst (Peter), Gary R., Renee A. and Ryan R. Pfeiffer (Claire); brother of Katherine Vukic and the late Emma Presutti, Chuck, Walter, Otto and John Pfeiffer; also survived by seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; also by nieces and nephews. Dick was a World War II Army veteran who served with General Patton’s Army at the Battle of the Bulge, Omaha Beach and the Liberation of Dachau. While serving in the Army, he earned four Bronze Stars. He is also a member of North Hills Lodge FA&M No. 716. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the T. B. DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, 806 Perry Highway, North Hills, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Diabetes Association or the Kidney Foundation.

Aunt Virginia, Denise, Gary, Renee, and Ryan,
I’m sorry that I can’t be there with you all. I know how difficult it is to lose a loved one. Uncle Rich will surely be missed.
Though we don’t see each other often, I think of you all and remember fondly time spent together oh so many years ago on Blossom Way and I especially recall the last time I saw your Dad…at Uncle Walt’s 90th birthday party. I couldn’t get over how much he reminded me of my own Dad.
