I am so sorry for your loss. Rick was a great brother.
We are so lucky to have known Rick since he moved to Harmony. Despite his challenges he always had a smile. He left behind a legacy of service, a beautiful family and his loving and dedicated wife Odette. We are so sorry for your loss but grateful for the life you had with Rick. Many hugs Odette. 🤗
Rick,
We are planting trees in your honor so when you look down from heaven you can think of the good times we had at Hiram House Camp.
Rick was always a warm presence at Orange for me and I am grateful to have known him and his wonderful family. From a trip to Disney World to camping at a DMB concert, I have so many great memories of Nick and I getting to pester him! He will be missed but will be remembered in my thoughts and through the wonderful family that he helped raise.
I remember Rick Hankins as a wonderful teacher at Orange Schools. Orange students were blessed to have him as a teacher.
I always said that Rick was the smartest guy I know. He was truly a master teacher and was years ahead in his knowledge of technology. His patience, humor and kindness were ever present.
Working with him was a pleasure. My deepest sympathy to Odette and the entire family.
Rick was my absolute best friend, amazing mentor, and goto colleague at OHS! He was a treasure! May God bless your family.
So many great memories of Rick. He introduced me to the internet and showed me how to watch an eclipse after which I dubbed him St. Rick. Rest In Peace. He was a good man. Sympathies to his family and gentle hugs for your wounded hearts.
My deepest condolences to the whole family. I have so many wonderful memories of Rick. We had so much fun setting up the first computer room in Moreland Hills Elementary. He roared with laughter when I color coded the cables because at that time all the cables were the same color. He loved dropping by when I was teaching our little ones to code and move their cursors on their screens to make squares and triangles.
May the Loving Lord surround you all with his peace and comfort during this difficult time.
He was my teacher in 1972-73
I have such wonderful memories of Richard. Whether it was rooting on Nick at track meets, or drawing perfect circles on the chalkboard, or yelling at us to go to sleep at 3 in the morning. It was an honor to have known him and he’ll be missed.
The Hankins family is special to Orange Schools for many reasons. Prayers through this part of the journey
I never knew Rick but it sounds as if he was a wonderful person. Thinking of you, Odette and the whole family.
