Beloved husband of Barbara (Peters Parks) Palmer; stepfather of Maura DeRiggi-Dickey (Bryan) and Megan Liston (Lisa), brother of David (Irene.) Richard is also survived by a stepgrandchild, nieces, nephews, loving relatives and many lifelong friends.
Red Palmer will be remembered for his love of the Pittsburgh Steelers, a strong devotion to his faith and his quiet, kind manner. An insulator by trade, he was proud of his life’s work and was a long-time member of Insulators Local #2. Red was a true patriot who loved his country. As such, he was honored to serve in the United States Army.
Friends and family will be received Sunday, September 25 from 2-6PM at DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME (806 Perry Highway Pittsburgh, PA 15229) Mass of Christian burial Monday, September 26, 10:30 AM at Christ Our Savior Catholic Church (St. Peter’s Church) 720 Arch Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15212. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter’s Church.
