Regina Kraus, 75, of Economy Borough passed away on Saturday, June 11, 2022, at home in the presence of her loving family.
Born in Uniontown, PA, on August 24, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Jack A. and Eileen Donovan Kennison.
Gina is survived by the loves of her life, her husband of 53 years, William P., whom she married on May 29, 1969, as well as her daughter and son-in-law, Megan and Jason Oldenski, and her two grandsons, Landon and Keegan Oldenski of Harmony.
Also surviving are her siblings, Greg of Fort Worth, TX, Kevin (Kathy) of Arlington, TX, Kristin of Bear, DE, Brian (Corby) of Woodbury CT, Jeff (Melissa) of Washington, DC, Carey (Yolanda) of Lexington, KY, and a number of very special cousins, nieces and nephews.
Gina was a devoted wife and a loving mother and grandmother. Time spent with her family and grandsons were precious times indeed. She, also, enjoyed keeping in touch with friends from Carmichaels, Lock Haven and Beaver County. She very much enjoyed Bible Studies at St. Kilian and Sts. John and Paul.
Gina graduated from Carmichaels Area, 1964; Seton Hill College, 1969 with a BA in French; and PSU with a degree as a Reading Specialist. Gina was blessed to work in the Greensburg Diocese, at Lock Haven Catholic School, in the Bald Eagle Area School District, and in the Keystone Central School District as an elementary teacher and a reading specialist for 35 years.
Family and friends are welcome at Devlin Funeral Home of Cranberry, 2678 Rochester Road, Cranberry Township, on Tuesday from 3 – 7 PM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Good Samaritan Roman Catholic Church, 725 Glenwood Avenue, Ambridge, on Wednesday at 9:30 AM with Fr. Joe Carr celebrating.
Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 2186 Broadhead Road, Aliquippa, PA 15001.

Your mom’s smile always lit up the room. I remember it vividly from elementary school and see the same radiance in Megan. Thinking of the entire family during the time of loss. May your memories wrap you in a blanket or comfort.
Gina was a happy person to be around. She had a way of making you feel special even though she was the special one. She cared deeply about her family, friends and students. I am forever grateful for her friendship and that she helped bring the Seton Hill plan girls together after 45 years. So many loved Gina and she loved them back. God’s blessings on her family.

I never had the opportunity to meet Regina. My mother (Maureen), on the other hand found Regina later in life and she was a blessing.
Regina was the sister my mom never had and I will always be grateful. May she now be in peace. Words cannot begin to express how very sorry I am for your loss.
I was incredibly blessed to call Gina one of my dearest friends. I greatly looked forward to our monthly dinners which would last upwards of 3 hours. She was without a doubt one of the most compassionate and thoughtful people I have ever known. The world has lost a bright light but I know she is praying in heaven now for all those that she loved. A part of my heart has gone but I know I will see her again. Rest in peace my dear friend!

We have so many fond memories. Gina really, really made this world a better place. The one memory that seems to rise to the top was her inspiration, caring and guidance given to so many young children, our daughters included. I was in shock and so saddened to hear of the passing of dear Regina. She always had a presence of elegance and grace. RIP and know how much you were loved.

Randy and I are deeply saddened to hear of Gina’s passing. She was an amazing educator who inspired many children, and most recently she fought a courageous battle. Our hearts are with Bill, Megan, and their families and we will continue to hold onto the memories we have of this great lady.
Regina was a wonderful, caring, loving and kindness person I know. I meet Regina at Bible Studies at St. John and Paul church. We just hit it off. We had so much in common especially are love for upstate Pennsylvania and our Religion.
I will miss Regina so very much. See you one day for Eternal Happiness.

Bill, Megan and family,
I am thinking of you at this difficult time. My memories of Gina are of her kindness and generosity. She was a genuine, loving person and always made me feel so special when we talked. Her animated emails with tons of punctuation were always a delight! She was a devoted and beloved friend to my mother. Sending love and light to you all. She will be so very missed. Natalie
Gina invited me to do the consecration to Mary for the first time with her and others. She started a snowball that has kept going. I am forever grateful for her kindness and faith that she generously shared.
My twin Sue Christopher Theisen and I started 1st grade with Regina at the Borough school in Carmichaels, PA in 1952. We were friends all through High School and beyond. I have kept in touch with Regina through email in the past few years and seen her at high school reunions. She was one of the nicest and kindest people that I have ever met. Gosh will she be missed. Such a loss for her husband Bill. My prayers for her recovery went unanswered and I am so disappointed. But I will see you on the other side Kid. Such a loss for all of us.

Sincere condolences to Regina’s family. I remember the Kennison’s. Mrs Kennison taught catechism at St Hugh’s during my HS years. I am closer in age to Kevin, but I remember Regina, always smiling and kind to everyone. She will be missed.

I was graced in this life with many good teachers. A handful stood out. Even fewer remain friends to this day. This week I lost one who indeed was a friend. For me she, an inspiration. Thank you for my life lessons and for being the first teacher in my life who let me be me.
