Raymond J. Scherer, 88, of Wexford, died Sunday, March 21, 2010. He was the husband of the late Theresa (Stangl) and the late Hermine (Gindele); loving father of Raymond T. (Fran), Diane (Sonny) Derescavage, Robert A. (Michele), Michael P. (Janice), Suzanne Scherer, Mark D. (Susannah), Karen (John) Michel, Terry B. (Carol) Gindele, Craig (Jan) Gindele and Amy (Roger) Elliott; father-in-law of Sharon (Tony) Scollo; brother of Rosemary (John) Kuhn, Ralph (Nancy) Scherer, Marian (Paul) Yeckley, Thomas Scherer, Larry (Avis) Scherer and the late Harry and William Scherer and Grace Duncan; also survived by sisters, Adele, Mary and Diane Scherer; and brother-in-law of Robert (Anna) Stangl; also survived by 18 grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Ray was a proud alumnus of Duquesne University, graduating in 1949. He was a CPA by profession and partner in Point Spring and Driveshaft Co., retiring in 1997. He was a former controller for West View Borough and a lieutenant in the Army Air Corps during World War II. During his retirement, Ray enjoyed his years spending time with his children, grandchildren and extended family. Visitation from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at T.B. DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, 806 Perry Highway, North Hills. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Friday in St. John Neumann Church.
