Fell asleep in The Lord on this day.
Phyllis Esau beloved wife for 56 years of William Esau. A loving mother and grandmother. She is survived by sons Stephen, Kevin (Susan), grandchildren; Aleksei, Kodi and Oksana. Along with siblings Nancy (Joe) Mell and Harry(Judy) Karavlan. And many nieces, nephews.
Predeceased, by her parents Philip Karavlan, wife Ella (Brutz) Karavlan, brothers John, Philip Karavlan, and sister Florence (Karavlan) Sismour.
Phyllis’ ever present smile, lovely blue eyes and her kind words will be greatly missed by all.
She attended John Morrow Grade School, Oliver High School graduating with high honors, and Geneva College in Beaver Falls.
She was an administrative assistant at US Steel in Pittsburgh along with many years as school secretary for the North Allegheny School District, Hosack Elementary, Marshal Middle School, and Peebles Elementary
Her many talents were loving to cook, crochet, puzzles, and play poker with friends.
Her many travails throughout her life never really dampened her gracious spirit.
May her memory be eternal.
Family and friends are welcome on Thursday from 6-8 pm and Friday from 2-4, 6-8 pm at Devlin Funeral Home, 806 Perry Hwy., North Hills. Funeral Service Saturday 10 am at St. Alexander Nevsky Orthodox Cathedral.
Alison, Jaxson, and I are sending our deepest condolences to all of you at this sad time. Aunt Phyllis was such a bright light, and we were so lucky to know and love her. We hope you take comfort in knowing she is now with God, wrapped in his arms and watching over you.
Bill, Sorry for your loss. I can’t imagine how difficult it would be. losing your partner after 56 years. Phyliss was a beautiful and kind person.
I am so sad to learn of Mrs Esau’s passing. She was always so lovely and sweet to me. Always had a smile on her face.
That’s how I will always remember her.

Phyllis was truly a beautiful soul and she had a way of always lighting up a room. Her memory and beautiful spirit lives on eternal. May God bless you all and give you strength through this time and season of life.
I will remember her always smiling and happy to host the family occasions and welcome all in with a smile, kiss, and a hug.
