Peter Yovanovich

April 26, 2024 - May 28, 2015

Age 88, of Laurel Gardens, Ross Township, on Thursday, May 28, 2015. He was the loving husband of 67 years to Louise (Boelky) Yovanovich; Cherished father of David P., Joanne L. Garfold (Hugh), and Diane R. Yovanovich; Proud and happy “pap” of Joseph A. and Daniel P. Garfold; brother of the late Menka and Donka; brother-in-law of the late Ann Prem (Ed), the late Joseph (Verna), the late Charles, the late Mary Ann Sweeney (Don), and Theresa Burns, all of whom were so special to him; also survived by many nieces and nephews. Pete was born in Macedonia, Yugoslavia and came to the United States at the age of 12. He proudly served his country in WWII as a member of the United States Navy as a Seaman First Class on the USS Tabora from 1945 to September 1946. He was employed with Alcoa Corporation, based in Pittsburgh, as an Architectural Design Supervisor, where he retired after 31 years. Pete loved his retirement years. He spent time traveling, visiting relatives in Canada, golfing, fishing, bowling, and best of all, the Casino! He enjoyed the company of his grandsons, Joseph and Daniel, his family and friends. He was a proud member of St. Teresa of Avila Church. Our Dad was the “rock” of our family, generous, caring, and kind to all, and will be truly missed! Friends received Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, INC. 806 Perry Hwy., Ross Twp. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday 10 AM at St. Teresa of Avila Church.
