Patrick
Yates
A kind and compassionate soul with an adventurous spirit, passed away on Monday, October 20, 2025 after a courageous battle with addiction and mental health challenges. Beloved son on Kevin and Milly (Anderson); Loving brother of Conor Yates; Proud uncle of Jackson and Everly Yates; Loving nephew of Parker and Karola Anderson, Paul and Paulette Anderson, Letty and Jack Murphy, Collette Anderson and Roger Cronrath, Mark and Lalida Anderson, Pat and Dave Thompson, Mike and Vicky Yates, Kate and Jim Wulf and the late Maureen Yates; Beloved partner of Alessandra Catanese. Patrick is also survived by many loving cousins, relatives and friends.
Patrick grew up in McCandless Township and graduated from North Allegheny High School in 2012. He went on to attend Virginia Tech, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering in 2017. In recent years, Patrick made his home in Southern California. Astute, articulate and endlessly curious, Patrick could engage anyone in meaningful conversation. He had a deep compassion for others – especially for those facing adversity – and always rooted for the underdog. His passions were as diverse as his talents: he loved the outdoors, hiking in nature’s beauty, and embracing challenges like surfing, bungee jumping, and parachuting. He even mastered his great-grandmother’s recipe for graham cracker cream pie, a family favorite. Patrick’s love for animals was unwavering, and he was devoted to his beloved canine and feline companions. His warmth, intelligence, and generosity of spirit touched everyone who knew him and he will always be remembered for his heart, his courage, and the light he brought to the world.
Friends will be received on Sunday November 2, 2025 from 12-6PM at DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, 806 Perry Hwy., Pgh, PA 15229.
