Patricia K. Lyon, of Cranberry Township, died Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2009 at her home at Sherwood Oaks. She was born April 23, 1921, grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah, and graduated from the University of Utah in 1942. Pat taught school at Washington Elementary in Elmira, N.Y. from 1956 to 1968 and at Whitney Elementary in Yakima, Wash., from 1968 to 1986. She was the daughter of Frank and Florence (Beck) Keay. Pat is survived by her daughter, Carol K. (Thomas) Nelson, of University Place, Wash; and three sons, Terry E. (Penny) Lyon, of Pittsburgh, Robert J. (Marilyn) Lyon, of Livonia, N.Y., and William A. (Barbara) Lyon, of North Tonawanda, N.Y.; her six grandchildren, Tami (Sion) Heaney and Jammie (David) Sergeant, of Tacoma, Wash., Terry D. (Heidi) Lyon, Ann (Gary) Ritchie, of Pittsburgh, Lisa Lyon (Lynwood) Stanley, of Franklin, Mich., and William P. Lyon, of North Tonawanda, N.Y.; and Pat’s 11 great-grandchildren, Briana and Spencer Sergeant, Zachary, Emily, Allison and Evan Lyon, Noel, Joshua and Caleb Stanley and Tyler and Elyse Ritchie. Pat had been an active resident of Sherwood Oaks Retirement Community since 1996 and a member of Salem United Methodist Church in Wexford. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, 2678 Rochester Road, Cranberry, with a celebration of life at 11 a.m. Saturday at Salem United Methodist Church, 350 Manor Road, Wexford, PA 15090. Memorials may be made to the scholarship fund at Sherwood Oaks, 100 Norman Drive, Cranberry Township, PA 16066.
