Norman Haas
December 21, 1922 - February 15, 2014
Age 91, of Ross Twp., formerly of Mt. Washington, on Saturday, February 15, 2014. Husband of the late Mercedes (Headley); Loving father of Kimberly Heiser (James) of CA, and Lance Haas of Pittsburgh. Norman was a World War 2 Veteran, a bombardier for the 13th Army Air Corps 31st Squadron, flying in a B-24. Lt. Haas flew 44 missions and served in 6 campaigns, receiving 6 Battlestars. The campaigns were New Guinea, Rabaul (Bismark, Archepelago), Borneo, Southern Philippines, Luzon, P.I. and the Western Pacific which included parts of the South China Sea and Formosa. He was also a retired employee of Allis-Chalmers. A committal service will be held on Tuesday at 1PM at Allegheny County Memorial Park.
